The Balance of Color

Thanks to all Our Women

Lisa's gettin' married
And so the story goes
She'll be a vision in ivory
From her head down to her toes.

She's lovely, he's lucky
She's sexy, he's bold
A beautiful union
These two rings of gold.

The Parties are lively
Delicious and fun
The bride and the groom
Ride off into the sun!

Well there's more to the story
When the honeymoon's done
You need to keep those memories
Because life has now begun.

The money
The housework
The babies and such
You need to keep loving
With a glance and a touch.

There's times you will love him
There's times when you could kill him
"Could someone come here and help
in the kitchen?"

But don't lose the passion
And don't lose the goal
A life filled with love
Is a treasure to hold.

Now you can take my advice
And do as you may -
You can take it to heart
Or throw it away!

But let me explain this
I'm married thirty-five
And-no I'm not perfect
He's lucky he's still alive!

Just love him and keep him
And show him you care
You'll beat all the odds
Sweet Lisa-so fair.

If sickness was blue
and healthy was green
we would all live in a turquoise dream

If anger was red
and peace was yellow
the world would be seen in an orange "mellow"

If sadness was purple
and happiness pink
emotions of fuschia could flow to the brink

If needy was blackish
and giving was white
then grey is the balance to make all things right

So get out your paint brush and canvas and swirl
and make all things balanced and fair in this world!

Hey! Who's that cutie over there?
She has a smile beyond compare
She doesn't know the love she brings
She's busy having fun and things.

So where'd you go today?
She laughs and throws a glance your way
There's no more debate, she'll just agree
And move along quite happily.

She lets her sister lead the way
And helps her brother every day
A giving child - the best you'll see
She loves her little family.

Her feelings are the softest tho'
Don't hurt her heart - she'll let it show
Oh, sweetie don't be mad at me
This silly fool treads heavily.

And in the end she'll win your heart
You never want to be apart
She's most sincere of all the three
She works so hard congenially.

And when she settles down at night
Her spirit throws a ray of light
Forgiving the world for all its mess
Tomorrow's going to be the best!

Nickolas, Nickolas full of joy
You're family's only boy
Sisters born first and then you came
How'd you get that special name?

Enjoying life and playing hard
In your room and in the yard
Animals are his favorite things
A big collection he always brings!

His hugs are the best
He says thank you "Nan"
You're very welcome little man.

You're eight years old
And growing fast
Game Boy, Pokemon
What a blast.

We truly love you Grandson dear
These words are just for you it's clear
So keep them close to your little heart
Especially when we are apart

You'll grow into a solid man
And give the world the things you plan
Like the love of life and animal care
Your goals are clear and you'll get there!

A child of beauty and of grace
The sun is always on her face
She steals your heart without a clue
And gently hands it back to you

Come and visit for a while
And let me see your lovely smile
We'll bake some things and have some lunch
Nannie loves you honey-bunch

What's in her heart she won't reveal
But I can read the way she feels
She's grandma's girl without a doubt
Her coolness follows her about

A recent crush is it her first?
He's on TV-it could be worse
She loves herself-that's for sure
She'll stay that way and she'll endure

Nannie loves you, can't you tell?
It's written on the stars as well
Just look outside the world is yours
You're golden Sam and have no flaws

So take your life to yourself be true
Be the best that you can; all eyes are on you!

Some of us made bookmarks
One created them too
Someone designed invitations
And one had ideas all brand new!

Many chanted diamoku
With a strong and powerful voice
Some were very serious
And jothers just said, "Let's Rejoice"

Some needed to voice their opinion
And maybe that is okay
Some were comforting spirits
And played referee for a day

Then all of us came together
Showing the greatest of worth
We all need to thank one another
These great bodhisattvas of Earth!

Our day was the best!
02/26/05
Thanks for all your efforts!
Love,
Barbara
