Our mother, Barbara, lost her battle with breast cancer on July 29, 2006, after what seemed to be a positive turn in 2005. Although we all should have experienced many more years of memories with her, we are thankful for all of the great memories we had up until last year. It's what gets us through the hard days. Barbara was a great mom, wife, grandmother, friend, nurse, aunt, cousin...the list goes on and on! When you ask those who knew her, they always say she had so much “spunk” and liveliness. She was the life of the party and not afraid to show it!

MOM3

We would have celebrated her 65th birthday on December 19th this year, a milestone for anyone. It’s really a shame she didn’t make it to this birthday, since I know she would have embraced being what is considered by most a “senior citizen” with full enthusiasm and positivity. She always said “yes” and was never afraid to try something new, never fearful of the unknown. I think her poems, as you will see, reflect that positive attitude.
